Each year, landscape companies from Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia submit their finest projects to be judged by leading landscape professionals. Winners are celebrated at the 2025 LCA's Annual Networking Dinner and Awards Celebration, where the outstanding projects will be recognized. View 2025 winners here. View 2024 winners here

Categories

Each submission will be evaluated for Honorable Mention, Distinction, and Grand Awards. Plus, new this year, each category will include one Award of Excellence winner.

 

Featured Project

  • Outstanding examples of craftsmanship in landscape construction—such as walls, decks, gazebos, water features, or memorials.

Residential

  • Complete Landscape Master Planning: Comprehensive projects that include contract management and final installation. Entries may be submitted as either Design Build or Landscape Contractor (non-design build).
  • Outdoor Living Area: Includes entranceways, side yards, and backyards. Projects should feature a combination of hardscapes, plantings, and/or turf.
  • Residential Maintenance: For single-family residences. Must show evidence of a consistent maintenance program over the past 12 months. Minor tasks may be completed by the owner. One-time service projects do not qualify.
  • Lighting: Exterior lighting projects, accentuating the project.
  • Interior Landscape Contracting: Includes interior landscaping such as green walls, zen gardens, and indoor greenery installations.

Commercial Categories

  • Commercial Landscape Installation: Commercial landscape construction projects that demonstrate excellence in design execution and installation.
  • Commercial Maintenance: Must show evidence of a consistent commercial landscape maintenance program over the past 12 months.
  • Lighting: Exterior lighting projects, accentuating the project.
  • Interior Landscape Contracting: Includes interior landscaping such as green walls, zen gardens, and indoor greenery installations.

Heritage and Decade Awards will continue to be considered for projects that receive Grand status.

Cost

Showcase your best work and gain industry recognition by submitting to the LCA Awards. Fees are listed below.

  • LCA Members: $270
  • LCA Nonmembers: $395, includes membership through December 31, 2025. 

Judging Criteria

A panel of professionals in the landscape field will evaluate all descriptive information and photos. All entries will be judged on attention to detail, degree of difficulty, and overall appearance.
