SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS AS OF MARCH 24, 2020 – COVID19 UPDATE
The Governor of the State of Maryland announced revised orders regarding closures of non-essential businesses and other establishments responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. This current order exempts landscapers from business closure under provision Number 2: Businesses, Organizations, and Facilities That May Remain Open, Section b: The Commercial Facilities Sector: Line ii and reads, “Building and property maintenance companies, including without limitation plumbers, electricians, HVAC service companies, roofers, environmental services companies, exterminators, arborists, and landscapers.” More information regarding the order is found HERE. On March 23, 2020 the Office of the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia has issued this Executive Order.
On March 24, 2020 the office of the Mayor of the District of Columbia issued this Mayor’s Order.
We encourage all businesses to follow CDC guidelines.
While these directives are in effect and during this unsettling time, LCA encourages all landscape professionals and companies to make decisions felt to be best for the health and safety of employees and customers. As we learn more in the MVA region, we will post updates and encourage all to seek information about governmental regulations in this rapidly changing environment.
