Constitution Gardens: A Nature Play Space

Constitution Gardens, a half-acre municipal park in Gaithersburg, Maryland, was transformed into a state-of-the-art, first-of-its-kind interactive nature play space. The highlight of the park is Log Town, Gaithersburg’s name during the Colonial Era, which is an enclosed preschool play space with climbing elements, a sand pit, a log flume, loose parts for building, sensory gardens, a log play house, and log farm animals. For older kids, a sliding hill and play space offer creative ways to enjoy free play and hands-on construction techniques. Sustainability and stormwater management techniques are also employed throughout the park.

Matan Company–270 Corporate Center

This project involved redesigning and constructing a courtyard area between two office buildings, replacing the existing landscaping, which was utilitarian and very dated, merely providing access from the adjacent parking areas to the main entrances of the two office buildings.
