Avenel Residence

We were tasked with updating a tired old poolscape to complement a previously completed renovation at the house. The outdated pavers and failing timber wall were replaced with a clean-lined silver travertine pool deck with quarried stone walls.

Fredericksburg Residence

The project scope was focused on the addition of a pool within a beautiful historic lot. The active family wanted a pool that would not only function for family parties, but also serve as an attractive water feature while viewing it from the adjacent patio and interior spaces.

Roland Park Residence

This 12-month-long period garden renovation unified three distinct but jointly owned early 20th century properties in historic Roland Park. Renovations to create a beautiful garden environment initially included the removal of dead and overgrown shrubs, vines, and invasives. Transplanting specimen trees, conducting soil remediation, addressing underdrainage, incorporating automatic irrigation, and performing precision grading allowed for the installation of the new croquet lawn. New, period-appropriate plantings were incorporated to complement the existing palette with the goal of rejuvenating an historic garden to its former glory in celebration of its 100th birthday.

Baltimore Rooftop Terrace

This rooftop garden and hardscape provides luxurious tranquility in the middle of the city overlooking the Inner Harbor. What was previously a monochromatic concrete slab with generic plantings was transformed into an eye-catching architectural spectacle. Whether enjoying a meal at the pergola-covered dining terrace, meditating on the bluestone-edged lawn panel in front of a relaxing water feature, or letting the day unwind in the spa flanked by Ipe decking, the residents find this space to be a bountiful retreat.

Fort Hunt Residence
Mount Vernon, VA

Although this rambler style home in Mount Vernon, Virginia, is a bit outdated, the backyard outdoor living space has become quite contemporary and innovative. Our scope of work included demolishing the existing patio and replacing it with bluestone, constructing a contemporary-style pergola, modifying the existing stone wall, and creating the "antique train garden" (the highlight of the backyard).

Edgewater Residence
Edgewater, MD

These Edgewater, Maryland, homeowners were looking to create an outdoor living space for relaxing and entertaining family and friends. The design was created to provide a formal yet rustic look. Large, random-size pavers were used with natural stone coping and stacked stone walls and pillars to create this look. Large evergreen trees provide privacy from the road and neighboring homes, while flowering pots were placed around the pool deck to provide a tropical and colorful feel.
